A farmworker’s cottage
A colourful little bolthole inspired by the colours of the landscape: hay yellow, deep earthy greens, sea grass, blue skies and weathered steel.
We’ve carefully stripped back the traditional farm worker’s cottage to install modern and efficient technology, like the air source heat pump that gently warms the restored wooden floorboards from underneath.
Much of the original joinery and fittings have been preserved, re-laid and skilfully repaired, and materials thoughtfully and locally sourced.
We’ve decorated the cottage with artful details, collected and assembled over time.
Everybody loves the wildlife garden, with uninterrupted views and a tiny glazed garden room to shelter from the elements.

One bedroom sleeps two with a king-size Ercol bed and ensuite bathroom with walk-in shower
Cosy living room with log burner and built-in dining nook. Fitted benches upholstered in raw linen and bespoke table top in locally-sourced cedar.

New, modern and fully equipped kitchen with induction hob, electric oven, kettle, toaster, coffee machine, fridge, freezer and washing machine
Converted glazed outhouse (the ‘Reading Room’ or ‘Huff House’) - a tiny little place that is all your own, with a private view of the bay
LOCATION
Embleton is a perfectly situated base for exploring north Northumberland, with all of the coastal route easily accessed along with hills and countryside seeped in history and tradition.
Step out of the door from Turner Cottage and walk down to Embleton Bay in less than 15 minutes - a beautiful stretch of sand with the iconic ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle and Craster to the right, and the tiny village of Low Newton to the left.
Craster is famed for its kippers and picturesque harbour. At Low Newton you’ll find The Ship in the square. You can walk to The Ship from the cottage, over the dunes and along the beach.
