A farmhouse by the sea
Southfield is one of the closest farms to the harbour village that became Seahouses (formerly known as North Sunderland). The farm was well-known to the fishing community who built a railway line through it, carrying herring and mackerel from the village to the mainline at Chathill.
Southfield Farm is still a working farm. We have centred our farming business here for the last forty-odd years.
We’ve decorated the house in the hope that it feels like a home. One that is welcoming and fun. It has been fully renovated, and is layered with colour, detail and collected belongings.
From the Farrow & Ball ‘Yellowcake’ bathroom, to the dressing room kitted out with cedar from The Hirsel, and wild Shydrak rug from Kyrgyzstan’s Mountains of Heaven in the library - it all tells a story.
The Blue House (or ‘Bloo-Hoos’) is our name for the farmhouse at Southfield Farm. Originally, it was the local fishermen’s name for the house – the blue slate on the roof was unusual and easy to pick out when they were out on their boats.

Boot room with washing machine, tumble dryer and stainless steel sink
Two additional WCs (one upstairs, one downstairs)
Large private garden with barbecue, fire pit, table tennis table and boules
INFORMATION
Stays are typically Friday-Friday during peak season, including school holidays
Shorter breaks (minimum of 3 nights) can be accommodated off-peak (September-April, excluding school holidays). Friday-Monday, or Monday-Friday
Can be let on a part-occupancy basis (2 or 3 bedrooms)
Families and children are welcome
Dogs are welcome at the discretion of the property owner. Terms apply.
